Phoenix officially broke the record high temperature for June 21 Wednesday afternoon, reaching 117 degrees.
The previously record was 115 set in 2008.
The forecast high for today is 118, so temperatures are still expected to rise.
Yesterday, Phoenix set the daily record for the day of Summer Solstice at 119 degrees. The previous June 20 record was 116 degrees which was set last year.
Monday, Phoenix tied its record high for June 19 at 118 degrees.
