Thank you for visiting 12news.com for the weekend traffic report.Commuters will deal with a handful of closures and lane restrictions throughout the Valley this weekend.
Here’s what you need to know for this weekend, October 27-30:
State Route 51
SR 51 northbound is closed between the I-10 “Mini-Stack” interchange and Loop 101 in north Phoenix for pavement improvements, Saturday 3 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition to that closure, all I-10 and Loop 202 ramps to SR 51 northbound are closed. Some alternate routes include the I-17 and Loop 101.
SR 51 southbound is closed between Loop 101 in north Phoenix and the I-10 “Mini-Stack” interchange for pavement improvements, Sunday. 3 a.m. till 5 p.m. All Loop 101 and southbound Black Mountain Blvd ramps to SR 51 southbound are closed as well. Please consider using the I-17 or Loop 101 as alternate route.
The Loop 101 is closed in both direction at 67th Avenue for traffic signal maintenance starting Friday 9 p.m. till Saturday 6 p.m. Commuters should consider using 75th venue to get around this closure.
A few freeways will have brief closures over the weekend. These freeways will close 20 minutes at a time for utility line work.
The first is on the I-10 near 59th Ave between 5 a.m. and noon on Sunday. The second is on the I-17 from Thomas Road to Indian School Road Saturday 11:30 p.m. until Sunday 10 a.m. The final brief closure is on the Loop 202 near SR 143 interchange between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday.
I-10 westbound off-ramp is closed at 19th Avenue for fiber-optic cable work, Saturday 11 p.m. to Sunday 10 a.m. Commuters can exit at 7th or 35th avenues.
Finally, there are a couple lane restrictions this weekend on the I-17. The I-17 southbound is narrowed to two lanes between Camelback and Indian School roads for installation of the wrong-way detection system. The I-17 northbound off-ramp is closed at Dunlap too, Friday 9 p.m. until Saturday 9 a.m. The second lane restriction is on the I-17. It’s narrowed to two lanes between Bethany Home Road and Glendale Avenue Saturday 9 p.m. to Sunday 9 a.m. for the wrong-way detection system.
