Weekend-long road closures for Race for the Cure

Plan for heavy traffic and road closures in downtown Phoenix for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Sunday October 9.

The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, starting and ending at Cesar Chavez Plaza, will require street closures in downtown Phoenix.

The closures are as follows:

Saturday (10/8/16)

• 7:00 a.m. - Washington St, 1st Ave to 5th Ave
• 7:00 a.m. - Jefferson St, 5th Ave to 1st Ave  (South lanes will remain open for E/B traffic)
• 7:00 a.m. - 3rd Ave, Madison St to Adams St
• 7:00 a.m. - 4th Ave, Madison St to Adams St
• 7:00 p.m. - Jefferson St closed completely at 5th Ave


Sunday (10/9/16)

• 6:00 a.m. - Washington St, 5th Ave to 15th Ave
• 6:00 a.m. - Adams St, 7th Ave to 19th Ave
• 6:00 a.m. - Jefferson St, 1st Ave to 19th Ave
• 6:00 a.m. - Madison St, 19th Ave to 17th Ave
• 6:00 a.m. - 19th Ave, Adams St to Madison St

Times for the Sunday morning event:

7:35 - 1 mile walk/run
8:05 - Survivor walk
8:20 - 5K Run
8:40 - 5K Walk
