3 things some research reveals about Cardinals fans and dating

Football fandom and love can get in the way.

Relationships need connections and some level of commonality for them to work, which is why if two people in a relationship are fans of rivals, it makes things complicated.

There is some research to it.

According to WeAreFanatics.com, we can learn a few things about Arizona Cardinals fans.

Cardinals fans are among the most dateable fans

Being a fan of the Cardinals doesn’t get in the way of most NFL fans. Arizona fans are the third-most dateable fans in the league behind the Los Angeles Rams and Detroit Lions.

So why are Cardinals fans so dateable?

One reason is they don’t have any real rivals. They are hard to hate because they have a long history of being bad. Looking at the five most dateable fan bases, there is that trend.

The Rams, Lions, Cardinals, Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Chargers either have not experienced a lot of postseason success in recent years or have a fan base known to be pretty laid back.

Who are the least dateable fans? It should be no surprise that they are those who love the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys, Pittsburgh Steelers, Green Bay Packers and Atlanta Falcons.

Cardinals fans would give up sex

When it comes to Cardinals fans, they are loyal. They were among the most likely to give up sex for a year rather than date a rival fan.

While the actual percentage is not impressively high at 12.6 percent, that was ranked 10th overall. The top ranking went to the Baltimore Ravens — nearly one quarter of Ravens fans would give up sex for a year instead of dating a rival fan.

Football matters more than God

Football compatibility matters more for Cardinals fans than religious beliefs.

According to the data, more than half of Arizona fans (52.9 percent) would rather date a fellow Cardinals fan than share religious beliefs. That is the sixth-highest rate among all fans.
