Brandon Knight - Chemistry will be key for Suns

Brandon Knight talks team chemistry

PHOENIX - There is a sense of cautious optimism surrounding the Phoenix Suns.

The team features some young, exciting talent and a group of popular, veteran leaders.

Things certainly didn't go Phoenix's way last season, as the Suns finished with one of the worst records in the league. But new head coach Earl Watson has instilled a new philosophy, and the guys are buying in.

Team chemistry is a focal point, and could be a big part in the Suns taking a step in the right direction this year.

"I think it's a lot better," said Knight when asked about the Suns team chemistry. "Guys spent a lot of time with each other off the court up until now, we're still spending time with each other on the court even more with the season starting. This summer I think we really took a step in building that chemistry."

"We got better off the court spending time doing certain activities together," Knight continued.

For Knight, staying healthy and playing a full season for the Suns has been at the center of his offseason training.

"I'm doing what I can in the weight room prior to games," said the guard. "I've been healthy my entire career until pretty much getting to Phoenix, so hopefully this year will be the year I can stay healthy."

If healthy, Knight will help to populate a crowded backcourt that features Eric Bledsoe, Knight, Tyler Ulis, Devin Booker and Leandro Barbosa.

Knight isn't worried about that though.

"It's going to be up to us to make it work. For us to be able to buy in to whatever it is to help the team win," said Knight.
