He's a former player
Hazen was drafted in the 31st round by the San Diego Padres after playing baseball for the Princeton Tigers.
More Red Sox may follow Hazen
Multiple outlets are reporting that Hazen may bring Boston Red Sox bench coach Torey Lovullo in as the Diamondbacks new manager.
He's ready for the challenges ahead
On Monday, Hazen spoke with members of the Phoenix media.
He reiterated the importance of hiring the right manager and said he's ready for the challenges that face him.
"It's an exciting opportunity, and one I don't take lightly," said Hazen. "There's only 30 of these opportunities around the league, anytime one of those calls comes in, you weigh it heavily. Everything that was said to me about the organization, about what type of environment that I was walking into, excited me more and more."
