TEMPE, Ariz. - It's the end of an era.
Former Arizona State University head football coach Todd Graham was relieved of his duties less than 24 hours after a win over the University of Arizona.
The Devils, who are 7-5 this season, exceeded expectations under Graham, became bowl-eligible, and had back-to-back 10-win seasons in 2013 and 2014.
"The decision has been one that I have been contemplating every single game," Vice President of Athletics Ray Anderson said in a press conference Sunday morning.
Graham addressed media shortly after, expressing his gratitude to the university and university President Michael Crow for giving him the opportunity to coach the sun devils.
"I'm a Sun Devil and I always will be," Graham said. "I didn't build this place to tear it down."
