TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State Sun Devils are confident in Dillon Sterling-Cole.
"I thought as the game went on, he got more and more comfortable," said offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey when asked about Sterling-Cole's performance against Washington State.
Saturday against the Cougars was Sterling-Cole's first time seeing extensive action for the Sun Devils.
He put forth a solid effort completing seven of his 16 pass attempts, but only threw for 86 yards in the loss.
"What's kind of odd is the things I thought he'd do really well are the things he didn't do as well in. And the things I thought he might struggle at are the things he did really well," said Lindsey.
"I think if we would have had at least one more drive, we would have capitalized. I feel like we would have capitalized and won that game," said running back Demario Richard.
No word yet on whether Manny Wilkins or Sterling-Cole will start Saturday against Oregon.
Either way, the Sun Devils will be confident in their quarterback.
