Poor tackling dooming the Sun Devils

Poor tacking proves Sun Devils demise

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State Sun Devils were run over by the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday night.

Literally, Colorado ran for 315 yards.

"There were a lot of individual efforts that were very commendable, but what does it matter when you lose," said head coach Todd Graham. "That was definitely not our best effort."

How did Colorado rack up so many yards on the ground?

Arizona State again had tackling issues.

"We spend almost half of our individual time everyday on tackling," said Graham. "We had our best performance followed by our worst performance."

Graham's right.

Arizona State's defense played arguably their best game of the season two weeks ago when the Sun Devils held the UCLA Bruins to -1 yards rushing.

Things didn't exactly carry over against Colorado.

"We came off our best performance the week before and did not respond well," said Graham.

The Sun Devils have a chance to correct what plagues their defense this week, as the Washington State Cougars roll into Tempe this Saturday.
