Phoenix Comicon exclusive: Archie vs. Predator cover

Phoenix Comicon is only two week days away, and if you are anything like me, you can't wait for the yearly event to get here. This year, they've got a bevy of celebrities, including Jason Momoa, who will be playing Aquaman in DC's "Dawn of Justice," Alyson Hannigan from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "How I Met Your Mother," and ("Great Scott!") Christopher Lloyd, among many many others.

However, that's not all, as you well know, they also host special comics, variant cover publications from small production companies to well established powerhouse companies.

Companies like Dark Horse Comics. Dark Horse has brought us "Hellboy," "Sin City," "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," and is also known for a special little treat of a comic called "Archie vs. Predator."

Yes, that Archie. Archie and Jughead and the gang. That Archie. And Archie is taking on none other than the Predator, the guy from that Arnold Schwatzenegger movie. Well, if you didn't catch issue #1, why not? Get out and get your hands on a copy!

So, back to the exclusive. At Phoenix Comiccon, Dark Horse will be making available 500, that's right, only 500 copies of a special variant of the issue. The amazing people who work for Dark Horse have given us a copy of that variant cover to share.

There you go my friends, the special Phoenix Comic Con variant cover for "Archie vs. Predator" #1.

My personal favorite part is Archie and Jughead now realizing it's even tougher to decide whether Betty or Veronica is the hotter of the two.

The cover was drawn by artist Darick Robertson. Robertson has drawn for several comics, including "Wolverine," "Justice League Europe," and created "Space Beaver" and co-created "Nightman."

"Archie vs. Predator" is written by Alex de Campi. De Campi is well known for the 2005 mini-series "Smoke" which was nominated an Eisner Award. She has written "Grindhouse" for Dark Horse, and wrote a two-part "Wonder Woman" for DC, among many many other comics.

De Campi and Robertson will both be at Phoenix Comicon the entire weekend of the May 28.
