It's been almost a month since Hurricane Maria made landfall on the island of Puerto Rico.
Many people still have not been able to contact their friends and families.
ArribaPR is a group of Puerto Ricans in the Valley who are trying to help friends and families in Puerto Rico get back on their feet.
Various other organizations, including Phoenix 50 and AZ4R, will be holding an open mic event Sunday at 4 p.m. at the iconic Herberger Theater.
The themed event, "The Stories of Puerto Rico," is open to the public, but is mainly geared towards family members or friends here in the Valley who would like to express their feelings for the island of Puerto Rico.
According to ArribaPR, the event will help continuing efforts to fundraise and transport supplies from Phoenix to Florida, where shipping containers await shipment to Puerto Rico.
