Saturday is Star Wars Day at Chase Field

D-Backs fans brave heat for Star Wars night

PHOENIX - Stars Wars Day at Chase Field is this Saturday with the Diamondbacks coming off a long road trip.

They're taking a lot of momentum into their series against the Philadelphia Phillies, and Saturday's game is at 7:10 p.m. The D-backs are continuing their fight for first place in the NL West, but Saturday everyone at Chase Field can fight the dark side.

The first 20,000 fans get a Paul Goldschmidt X-Wing Fighter pilot bobble head, plus the first pitch will be a Star Wars-themed surprise.

“Star Wars has been a popular event at the Diamondbacks for the past few years that we’ve done it so we know the fans are going to be lined up early for the giveaway, great game and great costumes,” said Graham Rossini, the D-Backs' vice president of special projects and fan experience.

There are guidelines for costumes this Saturday. Lightsabers and costumes are encouraged but masks aren’t going to be allowed. All items are subject to security screening.

And be sure to stick around for the Star Wars-themed postgame fireworks show.
