Reward offered in Food City shooting

PHOENIX - Phoenix Police and Silent Witness are offering a reward of up to $1,000 to find the three people responsible for a shooting outside a Valley Food City store.

The shooting happened on September 26, 2017 at the Food City on McDowell and 51st Avenue.

“This is five o'clock in the afternoon in a well populated area, so you have people coming home from work and out on the streets,” said Sgt. Jamie Rothschild, who's with Silent Witness.

Sgt. Rothschild said two men with a number of tattoos and a woman were inside and got into an argument with two other customers.

“It started as an argument, but then that finished and people went their own separate ways,” Sgt. Rothschild said.

But it didn't’t end there. The surveillance cameras don't show it, but minutes later the two groups of people were both outside the store. Then the victims saw the three people once again.

“They looked over and saw a black SUV and somebody from that black SUV started firing rounds, which struck one of our victims,” Sgt. Rothschild said.

That person was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.  And the three people and the SUV sped away.

If you recognize the three people in the video, you’re asked to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS. You can remain anonymous and receive a reward of up to $1,000.
