Mitt Romney to stump for McCain in Mesa

Romney to speak on Thursday in support of John McCain in Mesa

PHOENIX - Former Massachusetts governor and Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will be in the Valley Thursday to stump for Sen. John McCain's bid for reelection.

McCain, Arizona's senior senator, is facing Democrat Anne Kirkpatrick in his run for a sixth term.

Gov. Romney, who's publicly criticized the Republican presidential nominee, continues to support other influential Republicans. His appearance Thursday is for a "get out the vote" rally in Mesa, according to a spokesperson for McCain's campaign.
