Goodwill stores in and around Tampa Bay, Florida are yanking clown costumes off of their racks this Halloween season.
"We had a customer come to us who said they were really freaked out by this creepy clown phenomenon. We wanted to be sensitive to that so we decided to pull clown costumes from Goodwill-Suncoast stores," explains Chris Ward of Goodwill-Suncoast Inc.
The chain decided to pull clown costumes from their stores after reports of threats from creepy clowns across the country.
"In a way, we could be protecting people if someone unknowingly dresses as a clown. I mean, I love clowns, but if someone unintentionally scares somebody, who knows what could happen? We see this as a step to protect the public as well," Ward says.
