Deputy fired after texting a stripper he arrested

A deputy in Florida was fired after he sent text flirtatious text messages to a stripper he once arrested.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. - A Florida deputy was fired for texting a stripper he arrested and is disputing the sheriff's story that got him canned.

Pinellas County Deputy Brian Britt had gone to arrest stripper Dane'jah Scott for a domestic battery case out of St. Petersburg. She has a long criminal history and is now back in jail, where she told a corporal about her dealings with Britt that cost him his job.

Sheriff Bob Gualtieri, who fired Britt, said Britt sent numerous texts, some flirtatious, and spoke about her friend he considered "hot."

"Britt said that they should come to his house for 'conversation,' and that he would pay them a $100 each," said Gualtieri.

Scott said she went to his home, where Britt began to rub her leg. She did not like that because she agreed to be paid $100 for the conversation.

By Facebook Messenger, former Deputy Britt took issue with his dismissal, saying the sheriff should show the phone records and messages because there are none.
