Woman hit, driver flees in Phoenix

A woman was hit by a car near 67th Avenue and Roosevelt Street in Phoenix.

PHOENIX - A woman is in the hospital with multiple broken bones, police said, after she was hit by a car near 67th Avenue and Roosevelt Street Wednesday morning.

Officers responding to the area on reports of a woman down in the roadway just after midnight.

Police said one witness told police the woman was running around in the street, possibly trying to get hit.

The driver of the vehicle did not stay at the scene, police said, and there is no description at this time.

Police said the woman's injuries do not appear to be life threatening.
