Valley mayors to talk trash at Whataburger drive-thrus

PHOENIX - Four local mayors will be working the drive-thru at Whataburger Friday.

They’re doing it to remind drivers that fast-food trash is one of the most commonly littered items on Valley freeways.

Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers, Tempe Mayor Mark Mitchell, Scottsdale Mayor Jim Lane and Goodyear Mayor Georgia Lord will all be visiting with and delivering food to customers in preparation for Earth Day.

It’s part of the Don’t Trash Arizona campaign, aimed at preventing litter on roads in the Phoenix metro area.

Here is a list of times and participating locations:

Glendale – 10 to 11 a.m. at 4280 Bell Road

Tempe – 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 1346 South Rural Road

Scottsdale – 1 to 2 p.m. at 2955 North Hayden Road

Goodyear – 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 14251 West Indian School Road
