Two Tempe, Ariz. newlyweds, who just tied the knot less than a week ago, will face the first storm of their marriage together already - literally.
Dustin Knoer and his new wife Shelby traveled to Montego Bay, Jamaica for their wedding.
They are now dubbing themselves the "hurricane honeymooners" since their flight back to the Valley Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. was canceled.
Hurricane Matthew is slamming the Caribbean. The Knoers, and the airport they were supposed to use, are right in its path.
"They're already boarding up the windows right next door," Dustin said. "When the storm hits, I am excited, because we don't experience anything like this in Arizona."
These lovebirds are staying positive, but Dustin said employees of the hotel where they are staying are rushing to stock up on groceries.
"[They're] clearing out the grocery store ... so I'm like, 'What are you guys really not telling me?'" he said, adding the employees have shared they're a bit scared of what's possible.
But if it's good luck to have rain on your wedding day, a hurricane on your honeymoon is "extra, extra good luck ... we're off to a good start," Dustin said.
They plan to buckle down, ride out the storm and to come back to Tempe to be with family as soon as it's safe to do so.
