AVONDALE, Ariz. - Alonzo Vargas, the man arrested and charged in connection to "scary clown" threats against a Valley high school, pleaded not guilty in court Thursday morning.
According to court paperwork, the former Westview High School student is charged with interfering with an educational institution and a misdemeanor count of threatening and intimidation.
Vargas was arrest Oct. 6 after allegedly posted threatening material via social media. Police say the case is related to a recent national string of "scary clown" threats.
Vargas's next court date is an initial pretrial conference on Dec. 1.
