Scottsdale police asking for the public's help in naming new K-9

This carrying canine is the newest member of Scottsdale's Police Departments Crisis Intervention Team and you can help name him.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Scottsdale Police Department is searching for names in a case involving an adorable new addition to the squad.

The police are asking for the public's help in this matter.

Police said Tish Dittman from Zona Labradors donated an 11-month-old English chocolate Labrador to the department last week.

The dog, police said, will undergo training and will eventually be added to the Police Crisis Intervention Section, comforting crime victims and witnesses.

After the passing Crisis Response K-9 Fozzie in October, the department said it is looking to continue his legacy with the Crisis Response K-9 program through this new addition.

Scottsdale PD has narrowed it down to five possible suspects names and is asking the public to identify vote for the best one.

The names are:

Churchill
Chase
Charlie
Chip
Copper

The department has created a voting portal on its website. Voting will begin immediately and closes Monday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m.
