Police search for man who robbed a Mexican grocery and meat shop

PHOENIX- Police are asking the public for help in identifying a man who robbed a Mexican grocery and meat shop near 71st Avenue and Indian School Road earlier this month.

On June 3, around 4 p.m., the suspect entered the Super Carniceria, pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the female clerk and demanded the money in the register. He fled on foot.

Police describe the suspect as a Hispanic male in his late twenties with a shaved head. The estimate him to be 5-feet-10-inches tall, weighing 165 pounds.

According to police, he has a tattoo of the Virgin Mary's face on the back of his neck and a tattoo of the name "Maria" on the right side of his neck.
