Police identify teen girl shooting victim and older brother who was found with a gun

Phoenix police arrested an 18-year-old suspect after his teen sister was found shot to death.

PHOENIX- The Phoenix Police Department have identified a teen girl who was found dead with an apparent gun shot wound and her older brother who was found with a gun when police arrived on scene Friday evening.

Police arrived at a house near the Interstate 17 and Buckeye Road shortly after 5 p.m. after receiving a call about a subject with a gun. When they arrived on scene, officers found the victim's 18-year-old brother, Ignacio Estrada, with a gun and arrested him. 

Upon investigation, police found 15-year-old Reyna Estrada in a bedroom, dead from a gun shot wound. 

According to police, officers learned Ignacio also fired the gun at his father but missed. The father detained the suspect until police arrived.

Ignacio was booked on one count of murder, one count of attempted murder and other felony charges, police said.
