Phoenix PD suspects both drivers in teen's deadly crash were impaired

One teen died, 4 others injured in a car crash near Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard in north Phoenix.

PHOENIX - A 14-year-old girl was killed in a north Phoenix rollover crash Thursday afternoon.

The crash near Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard involved two vehicles, police said.

A SUV collided with a small silver car with four people inside--the driver, a 21-year-old man, the 14-year-old girl, a 19-year-old man, and a 16-year-old girl. The SUV was occupied by one person, a 53-year-old woman.

Police said the 14-year-old girl, identified as Shelby Faught, was ejected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

According police, the silver car ran a red light and impairment is suspected on both drivers.

The driver of the SUV and the three people in the car were taken to the hospital, police said.

The investigation is ongoing and police said charges may be determined for both drivers at its conclusion.
