Phoenix PD arrests wanted motorcyclist at Metrocenter mall

Police chased a man on a motorcycle across north Phoenix Friday evening before he went into Metrocenter mall, where they captured him.

PHOENIX - Police pursued and arrested a wanted man who weaved through traffic on a motorcycle before running into a Phoenix mall to avoid police Friday evening.

According to a police spokesperson, the man was "wanted for felony crimes." It's not clear what those crimes are.

Phoenix PD chased him through north Phoenix using a helicopter as police vehicles on the ground hung back.

The man jumped off his motorcycle outside Metrocenter mall, where he grabbed an item from the compartment on his motorcycle and appeared to put it under his shirt before running into the mall.

Police arrived at the mall with automatic weapons and covered several entrances of the mall before going inside to search.

Officers brought the man out of the mall through another door, taking him into custody.

Phoenix PD is still investigating.
