PHOENIX - Before the sun came up Thursday morning, Phoenix (39 degrees) was on par with Chicago (38 degrees) and Minneapolis (35 degrees).


The Valley expected to have a high of 65 for Thursday. The frigid morning air had several patrons at Hava Java, a local coffee shop, bundling up and buying hot beverages.

Boston (47 degrees), New York City (53 degrees), and Los Angeles (51 degrees) were some of the cities with warmer temps.

Here are the comparative temps, according to an iPhone temperature survey at 4:40 a.m.
