Officials: Man not breathing, without pulse after 50-feet fall while trimming tree

PHOENIX - A man was transported to the hospital Sunday morning after he fell 50 feet in the air while trimming a palm tree, Phoenix Fire Department said.

The man was "not breathing and did not have a pulse" when he was rescued around 11 a.m., fire officials said.

The incident happened near 40th Avenue and Roosevelt Street. A palm canopy fell and incapacitated the man, Phoenix FD said. Crews used a ladder truck with a bucket to get up to the man and remove the fawns to be able to extricate him.

The responders attempted to resuscitate the man after they got him out of the tree.

Officials said the man's condition is unknown.
