No apparent pattern to Buckeye water woes

How did water problems disappeared after consumers complained to City of Buckeye.

BUCKEYE, Ariz. - More Buckeye homeowners have come forward, claiming they've had massive water bills that they don't deserve.

12 News dug into the bills of some of the homeowners, and found there don't seem to be consistent increases from month to month.

In many cases, homeowners reported having only one month when they were billed for tens of thousands of gallons of water. The numbers, they said, returned to normal the next month, or two months later. Some claim their water bills returned to normal only after they complained to Buckeye officials.

Others said they've only seen their bills increase in the last two months.

All the homeowners we've talked to claimed they have no visible leaks, and experts said any leak that would cost them 30,000 gallons of water would be readily apparent.

Buckeye officials have not provided an explanation of how so many residents could have such dramatic water bill increases.
