Man dies after police find him tied up, not breathing after attempted robbery

Gilbert police arrested Torre Sanders and Jordan Hosey for attempted robbery and the murder of Shane Mullins.

GILBERT, Ariz. - A man has died after officers found him in his home tied up and not breathing, police said. 

According to Gilbert Police Department, officers responded to a call near Gilbert Road and Houston Avenue Monday night from a witness who said they saw the man being attacked. 

Upon arrival, police found Shane Mullins, 27, inside the home tied up and not breathing. Officers then heard noises and discovered two men hiding in the attic.

Torre Sanders, 20, and Jordan Hosey, 17, were arrested on scene. Police believe they intended to rob Mullins for drugs and valuables. 

Mullin's specific cause of death has not been determined, but police believe the attack by the suspects directly contributed to his death.
