Man arrested for murder after hitting woman while fleeing from police

SURPRISE, Ariz. - Roger Couillard was booked for first-degree murder, police say.

Surprise police say Couillard, 66, fled from police on the night of Sept. 12 and while fleeing Couillard hit another car. The driver, 19-year-old Alexis Rumer, was killed and her passenger, 22-year-old Cameron Watkins was seriously injured.

Couillard was booked into jail upon his release from a hospital.
