Lucky women get football coaching from Larry Fitzgerald

Ladies put their skills to the test at Larry Fitzgerald's 'Ladies Only' football 101 camp.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - A group of lucky ladies learned how to play football from future Hall of Famer Larry Fitzgerald.

Fitz hosted a football 101 camp for dozens of women on Monday night at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.

"This is my 14th year in the league now, and you look up in those stands, it's not all men. It's 50/50. They know exactly what's going on in this game," Fitzgerald said.

The camp kicked off with cocktail hour, but the focus quickly shifted to the pigskin. Women were divided into groups and ran through multiple drills. They learned everything from the quarterback three-step drop to blocking.

"What's it like out there, it's a lot of fun!" said Jeannine Ziomek who participated in the camp.

The women weren't the only ones enjoying themselves. The girls-only football camp was a first for Fitzgerald.

"It's funny because some are out here just to have a good time. Then you have some ladies, they've got cleats, they've got gloves, they play in flag football leagues. They're very serious," Fitzgerald said.

Women had the opportunity to take photos with Fitz and even catch a pass from him.

"He seems like such a wonderful guy," said Fitzgerald fan Teresa Brown. "Down to earth, just so wonderful."

"This was not just, 'Oh guys, go out and throw balls.' They were teaching us life lessons with football!" said Lauren Stevens.

Each women paid at least $200 to attend the camp, but they say it was worth every penny. ProCamps is considering bringing the camp back next year.
