Group to offer free legal help to US citizenship applicants

CitizenshipNow! has an event Dec. 10, 2016 at Virginia Piper Auditorium for participants seeking legal assistance for US citizenship.

PHOENIX - A group is offering free legal help this weekend to Phoenix metro area residents applying for US citizenship.

Citizenship Now! is accepting appointments at the Virginia Piper Auditorium in Phoenix for Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All services for lawful permanent residents will be free of cost.

This program started at the City University of New York and has launched in Phoenix to provide free immigration consultations and application assistance.

This initiative is a partnership with the University of Arizona’s Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

The legal team will partner with a health unit to promote citizenship screening and referrals in Hispanic neighborhoods.
