Former I-10 shootings suspect released from jail in unrelated case

New video shows him running to a car and getting into the driver's seat about 3 a.m. Friday after he was released.

PHOENIX - Leslie Merritt Jr. made a quick exit from the 4th Avenue Jail in downtown Phoenix Friday morning after officers arrested him on charges unrelated to the case for which he became known - last summer's I-10 shootings.

PREVIOUSLY: Leslie Merritt Jr. arrested in Glendale

The Glendale Police Department confirmed he was arrested Thursday evening. Investigators said Merritt violated a domestic-violence order of protection Thursday night. 

They said he was on the victim's property near Maryland and 67th avenues and was making threats.

Information on the charges he faces for this violation was not immediately available.
