Fire officials: Dumpsters set on fire in Phoenix; suspect in custody

PHOENIX- The Phoenix Fire Department said one person is in custody after crews responded to several dumpster fires Saturday morning near 7th Street and Dunlap Avenue.

Fire officials said the fires in the dumpsters seemed consistent with somebody intentionally setting them.

Phoenix police were working with a nearby Walgreens to see if surveillance videos showed the arson incidents, according to Phoenix FD.

There fires were contained to the dumpsters and no other property was damaged.

After following some leads, police arrested one person who is facing arson charges with a pending investigation to other fires, Phoenix FD said.
