Driver in serious condition after Phoenix school bus crash

One woman in serious condition. No one in either school buses was injured.

PHOENIX - Phoenix fire officials said two school buses were involved in a crash with another vehicle Tuesday afternoon near Union Hills Drive and 43rd Avenue.

The female driver of the car involved in the crash required extrication from her car. She was taken to a nearby trauma center in "serious condition," a fire spokesperson said.

Fire crew evaluated both bus drivers and three children for injuries but no one else needed to go to a hospital. The children were released to their parents at the scene.

The remaining children on the buses are being transferred to another bus.

The cause of the crash it not known at this time.
