PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks are down two games against the Los Angeles Dodgers in the race for the World Series. But the deficit won’t stop fans from keeping their full support with the team.
Fans we spoke to say, they’re still "chasing the pennant!” Diehard fans like Mike Thiefault and Aquiles Souque came from out of state to catch the game.
“I think it's going to be a turn of events. We're just going to see a more energetic atmosphere and then come out with a victory,” Thiefault said.
Many fans are hoping to enjoy a few moments just like the one from 2001, when Luis Gonzales knocked a base hit to drive in the winning run against the New York Yankees.
“The chance of a lifetime for Luis Gonzales.”
Now, down two games to none, it's the team’s chance to take advantage of their home territory and give the Dodgers a run for their money. Otherwise, L.A. fans are looking for the trifecta.
”I hope they sweep and finish this series already, Luis Alvarez said.
The snakes are only looking at two strikes against them right now. They just need to keep their eyes on the prize. Zach Greinke is on the mound and will hopefully lead the team to their first victory in this series.
The teams take the field at 7:00 p.m. in downtown Phoenix for Game 3. Team 12 will continue chasing the pennant and be there live on the plaza with all the game day details.
