Brothers dragged into Bartlett Lake by truck, flown to hospital for heat-related issues

MCSO officials reported that two brothers in their 70s were loading up their truck when the truck began to slip in the water.

Two brothers in their 70s were flown to the hospital from Bartlett Lake due to heat-related issues Tuesday morning, Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said.

According to MCSO, the two brothers were with their other brother and were loading their truck to leave the reservoir when the truck began to slip in the water. Two of the men attempted to stop the truck and were dragged by the truck.

The two brothers are being treated for heat-related issues rather than injuries from the truck accident. MCSO said the injuries are non-life threatening.

Bartlett Lake is located in Tonto National Forest, about 17 miles northeast of Carefree. Today's high temperature is 120 degrees.
