Blowing dust causes I-10 closure, 110-mile detour in SE Arizona

Strong winds and blowing dust from New Mexico have caused Interstate 10 to close in southeastern Arizona, the Arizona Department of Transportation said.

The westbound closure begins east of Wilcox, Arizona at US 191 and continues to Lordsburg, New Mexico, according to ADOT.

There is 110-mile detour in place using US 191 and US 70. There is no timeframe for the I-10 to reopen, ADOT said.
