Bedbugs found in benches at Sky Harbor

Here's some tips of what you can do if you were recently in terminal 4 at Sky Harbor Airport.

PHOENIX - A spokesperson for the City of Phoenix said Wednesday that three padded benches had to be removed from Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor due to bedbugs.

According to the Krishna Patel, acting public information officer for the city's aviation department, the bugs were discovered in benches before the security checkpoints in Terminal 4 and the bedbugs were isolated to those specific areas where the benches were located.

Just last month AMC Westgate 20 shut down one of its auditoriums after a photo went viral claiming bedbugs were in one of its theaters. A second person also claimed there were bedbugs at the same AMC theater.

The auditorium was cleared to reopen the next day after being treated by a pest control company.

Patel said pest control would follow up to confirm the areas at Sky Harbor were clear.
