PHOENIX - Family and friends are mourning an 18-year-old north Phoenix teen who was killed in a horrific crash earlier this week.

Police said Arianna Hinostrosa and her 17-year-old boyfriend were headed north on 67th Avenue  Tuesday night when he lost control of his vehicle and smashed into the electric pole.

Officers said Arianna was ejected from the car and killed.

"It doesn't feel real," said Xemya Spangler, one of Arianna's best friends.

"I can't accept the fact that she's gone, I don't know how to," Spangler told 12 News.

Her boyfriend was rushed to the hospital but is expected to be OK.

Friends told 12 News he had just picked Arianna up from work and was taking her home when the crash happened.

According to police, Arianna was not wearing her seatbelt. They also said they do not believe the 17-year-old driver was impaired.

Police are still investigating whether speed was a factor in the crash.

If you would like to help Arianna's family, there is a GoFundMe page set up
