13-year-old girl has a pulse after 40 minutes of CPR following near-drowning

PHOENIX - A 13-year-old girl regained a pulse at the hospital after being pulled from a pool in Phoenix Thursday night.

Phoenix fire officials said she was taken to the hospital from a home near Hatcher Road and 7th Street after approximately five minutes underwater.

Bystanders at the scene started CPR, which medics continued once they arrived. After 40 minutes, she had a pulse, according to Phoenix FD.

Fire officials said the girl has a history of seizures, but it's not clear if this situation is related to that condition.

She will be transferred to Phoenix Children's Hospital, fire officials said.
