Tire-damaging devices found on road in Prescott National Forest

PRESCOTT, Ariz.- Prescott National Forest officials are seeking information on more than two dozen, man-made tire-damaging devices along Forest Road 151 at the base of Mingus Mountain.

The devices are made of wine corks and nails and are difficult to see from inside a vehicle. Forest officials believe someone, who may or not have acted alone, placed the devices on the road sometime around Saturday.

Officials caution people traveling along Forest Road 151 to drive carefully.

Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the U.S. Forest Service Law Enforcement at 928-443-8110, or the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office at 928-771-3260, or Yavapai Silent Witness at 1-800-932-3232. Callers to Silent Witness become eligible for a cash reward if an arrest is made in the case.
