Peoria man drowns in Fossil Creek swimming hole

FOSSIL CREEK, Ariz. - The Gila County Sheriff's Office said a Peoria man drowned at Fossil Creek Sunday. 

Deputies, assisted by several other agencies, responded to a drowning call shortly after noon on Sunday at the "Toilet Bowl" swimming hole. 

GCSO identified the drowning victim as 57-year-old Marvin McClain, Monday.

Tonto Rim Search and Rescue, Pine-Strawberry Fire Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety and the Gila County Dive Team helped to recover McClain. 

GCSO said the investigation is ongoing.
