Man arrested in Tuba City after pointing gun at woman, barricading self in home

A man is in custody after he barricaded himself in a home in Tuba City after allegedly making threats against a family member.

Police say 54-year old Allen Lynch Jr. and a woman got into an argument near the Tuba City housing development, next to the hospital Thursday morning.

The man allegedly pointed a gun at the woman, then pointed the gun at himself. The woman escaped, but the man spent the last several hours barricaded in a home.

Navajo police, Flagstaff police, Arizona DPS and the Coconino County Sheriff's Office responded.

According to the sheriff's office, a robot from the Flagstaff Police Department was used to enter the residence where Lynch was barricaded.

Lynch was taken into custody and later booked under charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct with a firearm, and criminal damage.
