Loud unexplained booms reported across Tucson

UPDATE: Luke Air Force Base officials said the noises were likely aircraft operating during a base exercise in the area.

TUCSON - For the past couple of days the KVOA newsroom has received calls and emails from people reporting loud booms and shaking across much of Metro Tucson -- and even as far away as Willcox.

According to KVOA Chief Meteorologist Matt Brode there have been no reports of any seismic activity near the region. KVOA has also reached out to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. DM says they have no aircraft operations, or explosive demolitions that would cause the recent booms, but they have received inquiries as well.

The 162nd fighter wing of the Arizona National Guard is also checking into the reports but they have not directly received any reports.
