Homebuilt aircraft crashes off of Deer Valley Airport

Daisy Mountain Fire crews responded to an aircraft crash near Coyote Pass and New River roads.

NEW RIVER, Ariz.- Daisy Mountain Fire Department responded to a fallen aircraft Monday morning near the Deer Valley Airport.

Daisy Mountain fire found the small aircraft near New River and Coyote Pass roads, just east of the Interstate 17. The pilot was the only person on board and was not injured, fire crews said.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was a homebuilt Arion Lightning. The cause of the crash is unknown and the FAA will investigate.
