Drunk man tries breaking into Prescott Valley homes, traumatizes resident, police say

Police say a man in Prescott Valley tried breaking into apartments, causing one resident to have a "severe, life threatening medical event" early Saturday morning.

Prescott Valley Police officers were called to a duplex near Florentine Road and Corrine Drive for reports of a home invasion or burglary in progress.

Michael D. Dragone, 35, was pounding on the door of a home when the residents of that home warned Dragone they had a gun. Dragone broke a front window, and the residents fired the gun at him, police said.

Dragone was not hit, and moved to the next unit, where he tried breaking down the door, police said.

The resident inside the second apartment was traumatized, and had a "severe, life threatening medial event," police said.

Police arrived and arrested Dragone without incident. The resident was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say Dragone was intoxicated at the time of his arrest.
