'Clown Lives Matter' march cancelled due to death threats

Recent uptick in sightings and threats lead to cancellation.

One of the organizers of a so-called "Clown Lives Matter" peace walk announced the event in Tucson has been canceled due to death threats and online harassment.

"With the numorous (sic) death threats and harassment its sad to say we have canceled what was supposed to be a fun peaceful walk," Nikki Sinn, who also goes by Shelly Gutierrez, posted on her Facebook profile.

Sinn added the event page had been "bombarded with harassing posts."

The walk, which had been scheduled for Saturday, was in response to a recent uptick in creepy clown sightings and even threats.

Some clowns and clown supporters say it's giving the profession a bad name and is even hurting business. Recently, McDonald's said Ronald McDonald was keeping a lower profile due to recent events.
