Beat the heat, beat the Phillies!

The weather is hot and so are your DBacks

PHOENIX - Thousands of fans are excited to beat the heat to watch the Diamondbacks beat the Philadelphia Phillies Saturday night.

The game gets started at 7:10 p.m.

The line stretching around Chase Field showed fans were not detracted from the 114-degree thermometer reading.

"I’m glad it’s not Tuesday," said Melissa Boesen, a D-backs fan. "Tuesday would have been hotter. As you see, I don’t dress in any shorts or anything. It’s just the way it is. I guess you get used to it. I’m a native."

The first 20,000 fans received a Paul Goldschmidt bobble head. Saturday's game is also Star Wars themed.

"He’s a huge Star Wars fan and so we are here," said Tiffany Ezell-Tapia about her son Kai, who was dressed like Kylo Ren. "We couldn’t miss this. He wants the Goldy bobble head. He’s a big Diamondbacks fan as well, so we are braving the heat so he can have his bobble head."
