Arizona officials: Inmate walked away from work crew in Safford

SAFFORD, Ariz. - Authorities are searching for a minimum-custody inmate who walked off his work site Wednesday in Safford, according to the Arizona Department of Corrections.

Juan C. Nunley was with a supervised work crew near the ASPC-Safford sewage pond, a release said.

The inmate was last seen around 11 a.m., and the department has sent out teams and tracking dogs to find him.

According to the department's release, Nunley has been behind bars since 2014, when he was sentenced to seven years for theft and trafficking in stolen property.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts should call 911.
